This weekend, our youth sat alongside the greater Church at Water and the Word, and they showed up fully. They worshipped, asked hard questions, and wrote a prayer that sent us all back into the world. Because that’s what we do. We go in, to go out.
None of this happens without people. The hands that planned, prepared, and served every detail of this weekend. The adults who walked alongside our teenagers with patience and love. And the youth themselves, who brought their whole hearts to every moment.
We leave this place changed, and we leave this place together as ONE. AMEN

Today some of our Youth Council members met for their bimonthly in-person meeting! We focused on familiarizing ourselves with The Four Pathways and how they apply to our youth council and our call to serve the Diocesan youth community. Of course, no meeting would be complete without some good food!

The YaYA Commission hosted a terrific April Youth Workers Meet-Up today at DaySpring! Leaders from across the diocese that lead youth in various contexts came together for some training, led by a few of their own! A huge thank-you to Jackie for her presentation on planning youth mission trips, and to Ayana for her presentation on creative programming using pop culture. These Meet-Ups are held 3x a year, offering a mix of networking, sabbath, training, and fellowship. We hope to see you all at the next one in September!

Happening is a retreat designed just for grades 9–12. It is led by other high school students, supported by clergy and adult mentors, and filled with honest talks, great music, small groups, worship, laughter, and a few surprises along the way. Come see what it means to follow Jesus in today’s world and head home ready to live out your faith with confidence. Link in bio!

Even with heavy hearts, the Diocesan Youth Council gathered for the first time this past weekend, holding space for grief while still choosing to show up for one another. The Church of the Apostles and the Diocese of Southwest Florida invite our wider Episcopal and Parrish communities to gather in prayer following the tragic loss of Johnathan Boley, and to hold the Boley family in love and compassion.

We will gather for a Prayer Vigil on Sunday, January 4, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Chapel and the labyrinth at DaySpring Conference Center.

This will be a quiet, candle-lit time of prayer and worship, centered on Scripture, gentle music, and shared silence. There will be no formal speaking or explanation—only space to stand or sit in stillness, to pray quietly, and to be present with one another before God.
